Zambia to host COSAFA rivals in four-team tournament

COSAFA sides Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Angola will be involved in a four-nation tournament to be staged at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola later this month.

Zambia will take on Zimbabwe in the first semifinal match, a replay of the 2017 COSAFA Cup final that was won by the Warriors.

South Africa and Angola then meet in the second semifinal game, with both matches to be played on March 22.

The third-place play-off and final will be played on March 25 as the four sides get vital preparation ahead of the COSAFA Cup tournament to be staged from May 27-June 9, and the African Nations Cup qualifiers later in the year in September.

As the matches fall inside the FIFA match window, all four sides are expected to bring strong squads as clubs are obliged to release their players for the tournament.
