Love backs Angola to see off Malawi

Former Angolan international Love Cabungula says Friday’s COSAFA Cup Group B game against Malawi comes with great responsibility for his country and with victory the only item on the agenda when they play at New Peter Mokaba Stadium (kick off 17h30 local time, 15h30 GMT).

“Our mission is to win the game! We know it will not be an easy task considering we are in a strong group and we are all fighting for the same goal. Fortunately the players responded positively to the training. We will do our best to get into the maximum strength,” said Love, who is an assistant coach with the team after a career banging in goals for Palancas Negras.

In addition to coaching the Under-20 team, former striker participated in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

The Palancas Negras need to win and hope that Botswana, who Mauritius at the same time at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday, stumble at the same time.

If they qualify for the quarter-finals, the Angolans will take on Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Angola are three-time past winners of the COSAFA Cup but were last successful in 2004.
