Change to opening fixtures for COSAFA Under-20 Championships

There has been a late change to the fixtures for the 2018 MOPANI Copper Mines COSAFA Under-20 Championships with Central African guest nation DR Congo only arriving in Kitwe, Zambia on Monday.

The Congolese were due to meet their hosts in their Group A opener on Sunday, but instead Zambia will take on pool opponents Malawi at the Nkana Stadium at 15h00.

That will be the second match of the day with the tournament opener to feature Lesotho and Angola at the same venue at 11h00 as they play their first fixture in Group C.

It is an intriguing double-header for fans with a chance for the sides to take early charge of their pools, with only the top team and the best-placed runner-up advancing to the semi-finals.

DR Congo will now play their Group A opener on Wednesday at Shinde Stadium at 12h00, with the later match that day between Zimbabwe and Lesotho in Group C (KO 15h30).

It will be the second match in three days for Zimbabwe, who open their campaign against Botswana on Monday at the Nkana Stadium on Monday (12h00), followed by the Group B clash between South Africa and Mauritius at the same venue (15h30).

Tickets for all matches at the COSAFA Under-20 Championship are available at Webticket at Pick ‘n Pay stores in Kitwe Town centre, Mukuba Mall, Ndola town centre, as well as at the gate at both the Nkana Stadium and Shinde Stadium.

They are priced at 20 Kwacha for all double-headers and 10 Kwacha for single games.
