Angola name overseas stars for four nations tournament

Angola have belatedly named their squad for the four nations tournament involving COSAFA rivals SoutH Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe this week.

Palancas Negras will take on Bafana Bafana in Ndola on Thursday in their semifinal, and then meet either Zambia or Zimbabwe on Sunday depending on results.

Coach Srdjan Vasiljevic has named a number of overseas-based players in the selection, including defender Bastos (Lazio, Italy), and forwards Ary Papel (Sporting Lisbon, Portugal), Djalma Campos (PAOK Salonika, Greece) and Vá (Leixoes, Portugal).

Angola are seeking just a second ever victory over South Africa, having lost eight and drawn four of their 13 previous meetings, which includes six clashes in the last three years alone.

Angola have lost only one of their last 11 internationals, a African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarterfinal in January.
