Angola became the third side from the COSAFA region to reach the quarterfinals of the 2018 African Nations Championships (CHAN) being played in Morocco.
The Palancas Negras joined Namibia and Zambia in the knockout stages as all three sides from the Southern African region advanced through their pools.
Angola played to a 0-0 draw with Group D winners Congo-Brazzaville to collect the runner-up spot in the pool and will now face Nigeria in the quarterfinals on Sunday.
The day before that, Zambia take on Sudan and Namibia must face the hosts, Morocco, in Casablanca.
The COSAFA trio are hoping to become the first team from the region to lift the CHAN title.
