Andriamanarivo says Madagascar can beat Zambia

Madagascar coach Franklin Andriamanarivo says they can beat Zambia in Wednesday’s 2018 COSAFA Cup semifinal at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The two sides meet in their debut COSAFA Cup clash on June 6 and in their first competitive meeting in 17 years.

Madagascar, who qualified to the knockout stages unbeaten with two wins and a draw, eliminated hosts Bafana Bafana 4-3 on post-match penalties following a scoreless draw in the quarterfinals on June 3 at Peter Mokaba.

“Our players are not afraid to play against Zambia. After Sunday’s result, we are even more motivated to do well,” Andriamanarivo told COSAFA.com.

“We will prepare well for this match, we have played four matches, we have also been playing well and this has given us the belief that we can beat Zambia.”

Madagascar is aiming for their first final appearance after making the 2015 semifinals since making their tournament debut in 2002.
