Malawi name squad for COSAFA Under-17 Championships

Malawi have named their squad for the COSAFA Under-17 Championships to be hosted in Mauritius from July 22-31.
The side will be coached by Peter Banda and includes two players aged 13!

Defender Haji Wali and Innocent Shema are barely teenagers but will be hoping to make a big impression in Mauritius to display their potential.

For all of these players it is a first real taste of international action.

Malawi open their Group B campaign against Madagascar on Friday at the Stade St Francois Xavier in Port Louis, before later matches against Zambia (July 24) and guest nation Kenya (July 26), all at the same venue.

The top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinals. Group A contains hosts Mauritius, South Africa, Namibia and Seychelles.
