South African league winners Kaizer Chiefs travel to the Comoros in the African Champions League to meet Volcan Club in what is a trip into the unknown for the side.
Mamelodi Sundowns face an intriguing tie against Zimbabwe champions Chicken Inn, while Botswana’s Mochudi Centre Chiefs host Ferroviário Maputo from Mozambique.
Seychelles champions St Michel United travel outside of the region to face Kedus Giorgis from Ethiopia in what will be a huge test of their mettle.
Lesotho representatives Lioli host Vital’O from Burundi, while Zambian champions ZESCO United entertain Al-Ghazal from South Sudan.
There is also a home game first up for Swaziland champions Mbabane Swallows against APR from Rwanda, while Angola’s Recreativo do Libolo entertain Racing de Micomeseng from Equatorial Guinea.
There are also a number of teams competing in the African Confederation Cup.
South African side BidVest Wits travel to the Seychelles to play Light Stars in their preliminary round game, though compatriots Ajax Cape Town have withdrawn from their tie against Angolan side Sagrada Esperança.
Harare City from Zimbabwe will host AS Adema from Madagascar, while Gaborone United from Botswana are away at JKU from Zanzibar.
The Fomboni Club from Comoros have a tough opener against Atlético Olympic from Burundi.
The first leg ties are scheduled to be played this coming weekend, with the return matches on February 26-28.
