COSAFA side Zambia booked a quarterfinal meeting with Guinea following a 0-0 draw with Mali in their final Group D match at the 2016 African Nations Championship played on Wednesday.
Chipolopolo finished top of their pool after winning earlier matches against Zimbabwe and Uganda, and will face a stern test against the west Africans on Sunday.
Should they advance through that tie they will face the winner of the quarterfinal between hosts Rwanda and DR Congo.
Zimbabwe had already been knocked out of the competition by the time they faced Uganda in their final pool match.
The Warriors managed a 1-1 draw for their first point of the tournament.
