Zambia defeated COSAFA rivals Angola 2-1 in an international friendly match played in Johannesburg on Sunday.
The fixture was a warm-up for both sides ahead of their participation in the African Nations Championship to be staged in Rwanda from January 16.
The win will be a morale-booster for Zambia, who came from behind to claim the victory after Adriano had given Angola the lead.
Cletus Chama equalised for Zambia before Green Eagles midfielder Mwila Phiri gave his side the win.
Zambia will have a final warm-up on South African soil when they take on the Mamelodi Sundowns development side on Tuesday. They leave for Rwanda a day later.
Angola have been drawn in Group B at the finals along with DR Congo, Ethiopia and Cameroon. They play the latter in their opening match on January 17.
Zambia will face a familiar foe when they tackle Zimbabwe in their Group D opener two days later, before further encounters against Uganda and Mali.
