Tough pools in CAF Women’s Champions League | COSAFA Qualifier 2024

The 2022 winners Green Buffaloes from Zambia have been drawn in a tough Group A at the CAF Women’s Champions League | COSAFA Qualifier 2024 that will take place in Malawi from August 15-24.

Buffaloes have been placed alongside South African side University of Western Cape (UWC), Herentals Queens from Zimbabwe and FC Ongos of Namibia in what looks a very assignment for all sides.

The top two teams in each of the groups advance to the semifinals, with only the winner of the competition advancing to the continental finals later this year, where two-time African champions Mamelodi Sundowns have already qualified as holders.

Group B contains three debutants in Gaborone United of Botswana, União Desportiva de Lichinga from Mozambique and Malawi’s Ascent Soccer Academy, who will hope to use homeground advantage in the competition.

Young Buffaloes from Eswatini are the fourth team in the pool as they make a third visit to the competition.

UWC and Herentals Queens are also making their first appearances in the regional qualifiers.

All matches will be played at the Mpira Stadium in Blantyre and fixtures will be streamed live on FIFA+.
