Three COSAFA sides vie for Under-20 Afcon place

Three COSAFA sides will be involved in the final round of qualifying for the 2017 African Under-20 Championships with at least once guaranteed to advance to the finals in Zambia next February.

Angola take on Egypt in their two-legged tie, while COSAFA rivals Lesotho and South Africa do battle for a place in the finals.

The young Angolans play their first leg match in Egypt on Friday night and will hope for a draw at least to take back to Luanda.

It will be no east task against a powerful Egyptian side that has a long history of success in this competition.

Lesotho have not been to the continental showpiece since 2011 but have an exciting new generation of young stars and will be a match for the eager South Africans.

They play the first leg in Maseru on Sunday afternoon in what is likely to be an evenly contested affair.

The return will be in South Africa in a fortnight’s time on an exact date still to be determined.
