Strong Zimbabwe squad for Guinea qualifier

Zimbabwe coach Kallisto Pasuwa has named a powerful squad for the African Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea in Conakry on September 4.

The Warriors have already qualified for next year’s finals in Gabon, but can use the game as preparation for that tournament.

Pasuwa will have a selection headache with his forwards, even though he has not included star man Khama Billiat to allow the Mamelodi Sundowns player to rest after his exploits with the club in the African Champions League.

Still, he must pick two of Tendai Ndoro, Nyasha Mushekwi, Knowledge Musona, Cuthbert Malajila, Evans Rusike and Matthew Rusike, all of who are strong contenders to start.

Zimbabwe Squad:

Goalkeepers: Tatenda Mkuruva (Dynamos), Bernard Donovan (How Mine), Nelson Chadya (Ngezi Platinum)

Defenders: Blessing Moyo (Maritzburg United), Teenage Hadebe (Chicken Inn), Onismor Bhasera (SuperSport), Costa Nhamoinesu (Sparta Prague), Godknows Murwira (Dynamos) Lawrence Mhlanga (Chicken Inn)

Midfielders: Willard Katsande (Kaizer Chiefs), Marvellous Nakamba (Vitesse Arnhem), Danny Phiri (Golden Arrows), Kudakwashe Mahachi (Golden Arrows), Marshall Mudehwe (FC Platinum), Tafadzwa Kutinyu (Chicken Inn)

Strikers: Tendai Ndoro (Orlando Pirates), Nyasha Mushekwi (Dalian Yifang), Knowledge Musona (KV Oostende), Cuthbert Malajila (Bidvest Wits), Evans Rusike (Maritzburg), Matthew Rusike (Helsingborgs IF).
