Seychelles will find out on Friday whether they have won the right to host the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
FIFA is to hold its latest Council Meeting in Doha at the ongoing World Cup and on the agenda is the finalisation of the host for the Beach Soccer edition next year.
COSAFA nation Seychelles are bidding along with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, and will finally learn their fate after a number of delays.
An announcement was expected in March this year but that was later deferred to October, which was then postponed again to Friday’s meeting.
Along with the host, the dates for the tournament will also be confirmed.
Should Seychelles be awarded the hosting rights, it will be the first time the tournament has been staged on the African continent.
