Nyamilandu cleared to contest FIFA elections

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Walter Nyamilandu was declared eligible to defend his FIFA Council member position on March 12 after he passed the integrity and eligibility test by the FIFA review committee.

Nyamilandu, who was voted into the FIFA Council Member position in September 2018, is seeking re-election into the Council during the CAF elective AGM set for next month in Morocco.

“I am delighted to have passed the FIFA eligibility test which is a vote of approval with regard to integrity,” Nyamilandu said. “This gives a lot of confidence and credibility to my supporters as a leader to remain focused and undaunted with the mammoth task that lies ahead.

“We will seize the momentum by intensifying the campaign to defend the position of FIFA Council member that I am currently holding for the Anglophone speaking countries in Africa.”
