Holders Mozambique have been paired with African champions Senegal in the pool stages of the HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Beach Soccer Championship 2022 that will be staged in Durban from September 25-October 1.

Mozambique, who will host the African Beach Soccer Championships next month, claimed the title last year in fine style and will be seeking to go back-to-back in 2022.

But it will be no easy ride with a superb field of teams making up the eight that will be in Durban.
Seychelles and hosts South Africa are the other two teams in Group A, with the top two advancing to the semifinals.

Their clash with Senegal in the pool will be something of a grudge match – the two sides met in the continental final last year, with the werst Africans running out 4-1 winners.

Group B contains a trio of guest nations in the form of Tanzania, Uganda and Egypt, as well as COSAFA nation Mauritius.

That means four of the sides that will compete for the continental crown will be at the COSAFA event – Egypt, Senegal, Mozambique and Uganda – a stunning field that is sure to provide plenty of entertainment.

It will be the third championship in all after the first one was played in Seychelles in 2015.
