Malawi coach urges players to seize the moment

Malawi coach Trevor Kajawa has urged his players to seize the moment when they participate at the COSAFA Women’s Under-17 Championship at the Region 5 Games Lilongwe 2022.

This will be the first time the country has had a team at an international event and that makes it an exciting new chapter for the players and their coach.

“We are looking forward to the tournament,” Kawaja said. “This is a big moment for the girls as we will be parading a first ever Under-17 team at international level and we will do the best of our abilities to get results.”

Malawi have been drawn in Group A at the competition and will begin their campaign against South Africa on December 1.

They will then take on Mauritius in their second encounter four days’ later, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the second round.

Meanwhile, Kajawa has named his squad for the historic occasion, with the players having been in training for some time now.
