Kambole delighted with Man of the Match prize as Zambia claim CHAN win

Chipolopolo striker Lazarous Kambole delighted in his dream debut as he put up a man of the match performance in Zambia’s 3-1 win over Uganda.

Kambole showed his predatory instincts by tucking away Zambia’s first goal after being set up by Ernest Mbewe and turned provider for the second that Augustine Mulenga scored.

The Zesco United striker said that the dream debut was the beginning of good things to come.

“It feels great to have a memorable debut. It was not an easy game but we fought hard and won,” he said. “It was not an easy game, but we were prepared. Winning the first game of the tournament was our plan and we achieved that which is a great feeling for us, not only for me but as Zambians.”

He added: “This is just the beginning of good things to come. We worked hard as a team.”

Kambole caught the attention of national team selectors with his performance in Zesco United colours in the final stretch of the league.

He netted 10 goals in the league season 2017 with his opportunity coming in the final stages of the league.

Kambole was also on target during Zambia’s 3-1 win over Orlando Pirates last week in a practice match.
