The fixtures are out for the 2022 HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Beach Soccer Championship which will provide a feast of action for fans with four games to be played on each day of the group phase.
With a first kick-off at 10h30 CAT in the morning and the last at 16h30, it will be all day fun in the sun with some of the top players on the African continent displaying their skills at Durban’s South Beach Arena from September 25-October 1.
It is the second year in a row the venue will host the competition, but this one promises to be bigger and better with a top guest nations from outside the region bringing their own flavour to the tournament.
Defending COSAFA champions Mozambique will kick-off proceedings with a heavyweight clash against African title holders Senegal in what is a repeat of the final at the 2021 Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.
That Group A game will be at 10h30 CAT on September 25 and is the best possible way to start the event.
The second match in the pool sees Seychelles take on hosts South Africa at 12h30 CAT, where both teams will be desperate to get off to a positive start knowing the calibre of their opponents still to come.
Only the top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinals, so there is little room for error.
Group B will get under way with a clash between north African guests Egypt and Mauritius at 14h30, another fascinating contrast in styles.
And then there will be an all-East African match-up as Tanzania, who were beaten finalists in the COSAFA event last year, tackle Uganda at 16h30.
That line-up of teams will be repeated over the next two match-days in the pool phase, with the semifinals to be held on September 30 and the final and third-place play-off on October 1.
