Galekhutle ready to deliver for Botswana

Botswana captain Esalenna Galekhutle says her teammates are ready for the second leg of their FIFA Women’s Under-20 World Cup qualifier against Namibia on Friday.

The team is currently in camp and doing final preparations having claimed a massive 7-0 victory in the first leg played earlier this month.

“Batswana must come in large numbers to support us, this is the time that we really need them. They have to walk this journey with us. We want to make history by being the first team to qualify for a World Cup in Botswana Football,” a calm Galekhutle said.

“The time is now, we are more than ready for our second leg. It is going to be an interesting and entertaining game, I can assure and promise Batswana that. There will be also lots of goals so they must come and enjoy.”

Five-goal hero in the first leg, Michelle Abueng, concurred with her skipper. She said everything is well and fans must come fill up the stadium and watch the team finish what they started in Namibia.

“I missed some chances in Namibia so I have been working on my finishing. Everyone must come watch and support us as we make history. Batswana must attend the game,” said the ever smiling Abueng.

Botswana Under-20 coach, Jacqueline Gaobinelwe, is confident that her girls will do their best and put smiles to Batswana as moral is very high in the camp and they have a clean bill of health.

The winner of the tie will move to the next stage, where they will face either South Africa or Zambia. The South Africans lead that tie 2-0 with the home leg to come.
