The fixtures have been released for both the COSAFA Women’s Championship and COSAFA Women’s Under-17 Championship that will be staged concurrently in Nelson Mandela Bay next month.
Unfortunately COVID-19 restrictions mean there will be no fans in the stadia, a huge shame given the excellent support COSAFA events have enjoyed in the city over the last few years, where there is clearly a hunger and great passion for football.
Television broadcast details will be released in due course, but all games will be streamed live on COSAFA.TV for fans across the world to enjoy.
The COSAFA Women’s Championship will be played between November 3-14, with the 10 teams split into one group with four sides, and two with three. Only the top team in each pool and the best-placed runner-up advance to the semifinals.
Eswatini and Comoros will open the tournament with a Group A clash at the Wolfson Stadium on November 3 (kick-off 12h30), which will be followed by a tasty tie between hosts South Africa and Angola (15h30) later in the day.
Zambia get their campaign under way on November 4 with a Group B meeting against Lesotho (12h30), while Zimbabwe kick-off against East African guest nation Tanzania later on (15h30).
Botswana have to wait until November 7 for their first game, against Tanzania (12h30), while likewise Malawi have their first match on that day also against Lesotho (15h30).
The semifinals will be played on November 12, with the winner of Group A up against the victor in Group C. The winner of Group B will play the best-placed runner-up.
The final will be at the Wolfson Stadium on November 14 at 15h00.

The COSAFA Women’s Under-17 Championship will be played as a single-pool round-robin competition featuring the five competing teams, though the sides that finish in the top two in the pool will contest a final.
It ensures the teams will have a minimum of four games during the November 4-14 event, providing much-needed international exposure for the players.
Comoros and East Africa guest nation Tanzania kick-off the tournament on November 4 at The Oval at 12h30, while later in the day South Africa host Zambia in a massive clash on day one at 15h30.
Zimbabwe then enter the competition on November 6 against the South Africans, who then pay Tanzania two days later, and finish their pool play against Comoros on November 12.
The final of the competition will be at 11h00 on November 14 at the Wolfson Stadium.
