The official draw for the Castle Lager Best Brew League 2017, has taken place at the Royal Marang Hotel in Rustenburg, drawing eight participating teams into two groups of four.
The draw was conducted by some of Africa’s famous football legends in the SADC region including Tinashe Nengomashe, Siza Dlamini, Brian Baloyi, Lehlohonolo Seema, Rotson Kilambe who have been instrumental in the endorsing of this inventive 5-a-side football tournament that has captured many of the Castle Lager consumers.
The group stage matches will be played on Saturday afternoon at the Royal Bafokeng stadium with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the semi-finals which will be played on Sunday, 9 July 2017. The final will also be played on Sunday as the curtain raiser to this year’s Cosafa Cup final.
Castle Lager Brand Manager for Africa, Thomas Lawrence welcomed the draw and expressed his excitement for the inaugural Best Brew League.
“I think it’s a fair draw for all the teams taking part in the tournament this weekend,” says Lawrence.
“The journey for all the teams has been a long one and it is exciting for us at Castle Lager to finally be at this stage where the action is happening. Our wish is to see our consumers enjoy the game they love and celebrate friendship.”
