COSAFA sides learn their fate in TotalEnergies CAF AFCON draw

The record seven COSAFA teams that have qualified for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025 have discovered their group stage opponents after the draw was concluded in Rabat on Monday.

Zambia and Comoros are in Group A along with hosts Morocco and Mali in what will be astern test for them. The top two teams and the three beat third-placed sides advance to the round of 16.

There are a trio of COSAFA nations in Group B as South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe will take on Egypt. They will know each other exceptionally well.

Botswana, playing at the finals for the second time after their debut in 2012, go up against Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo and Benin in Group D.

Mozambique have a tough test in Group F as they play defending champions Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Gabon.

The finals in Morocco will be played from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026 and spread across six host cities and nine stadia as Africa’s best chase the continent’s most coveted trophy.
