COSAFA sides enter African Under-20 Championship qualifiers

A number of COSAFA sides will be in action later this month in their bid to qualify for the African Under-20 Championships as the first round gets underway on the weekend of March 30/31.

Others, such as Zambia, South Africa and Angola have byes into the second stage to be played in May.

The first round qualifiers see Seychelles take on Mozambique in what could be a closely-fought tie, while Malawi will do battle with Swaziland.

The match-up between Namibia and Botswana is a tough one to call, but many of the Young Brave Warriors who won the 2016 COSAFA Under-17 Championship have now been elevated to the Under-20 age-group.

The second legs of the first round fixtures are scheduled to be played from April 13-15.

Zambia are the current African champions after they lifted the trophy on home soil in 2017. South Africa finished fourth in that competition.
