Namibian fans are in for a treat at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday, June 11 when the country’s Brave Warriors showcase the COSAFA Castle Cup trophy they won in South Africa last year.
The Namibia national team will parade the silverware before the opening game of the 2016 COSAFA Castle Cup between Zimbabwe and Swaziland at 15h00, reliving the memories of what remains one of their greatest footballing triumphs.
Led by coach Ricardo Mannetti, the country’s top stars will get a chance to revel in their victory one last time before they begin the defence of their title with a quarterfinal against Botswana on June 18.
It will be a fantastic opportunity for fans to get up close to their heroes and wish them luck in what is sure to be a demanding and entertaining COSAFA Castle Cup tournament.
Namibia’s Superfans will be bringing the vibe from the stands, along with supporters from six other countries in the region in what will be a great festival of football.
Aside from the appearance by the Brave Warriors, the opening ceremony of the COSAFA Castle Cup at 13h15 will see top local artist ADORA performing for fans. Gates to the stadium open at 12h00.
Tickets for this prestigious tournament are on sale for N$20 and can be purchased at all TN Mobile teleshops, the Namibian Football Association’s Football House, the Freedom Land Mobile Police Station and Greewell Police Station.
