Angola have qualified for the 2019 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, a first appearance for the COSAFA nation at the global showpiece event in this age-group.

Angola defeated hosts Tanzania 4-2 to seal a semifinal spot in the CAF Under-17 Championships on Saturday, and in doing so booked their place in Brazil at the World Cup.

It is a magical moment for the side, who finished runners-up in their pool and will now face Cameroon in the semifinals on Wednesday.

Angola end their pool play behind winners Nigeria, but their pre-tournament goal of playing at the World Cup has been achieved.

Angola follow in the footsteps of the likes of South Africa and Malawi who have qualified for the global finals in this age-group before.
