There will be an all-COSAFA refereeing team on the field for the CAF Confederation Cup final between South Africa’s Orlando Pirates and RS Berkane from Morocco that will be played in Uyo, Nigeria on Friday.
Zambian official Janny Sikazwe will be the man in the middle having had extensive experience of refereeing big matches in the past.
He officiated the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup final and the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations decider, and later took charge of two games at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
He also officiated the first leg of the 2018/19 Confederation Cup final which also involved RS Berkane as they took on Egyptian side Zamalek.
He will be assisted by Jerson Emiliano Dos Santos from Angola and Arsenio Chadreque Maringule of Mozambique, who will run the lines.
The fourth official will also be from the COSAFA region in the form of experienced Botswana official Joshua Bondo.
However, the Video Assistant Referee will be Mahmoud Ashor from Egypt.
