The country’s biggest beer makers, Castle Lager, have launched a new 5-a-side football tournament for its consumers called, The Best Brew League. The tournament, which will kick off on July 6, 2017 in Rustenburg during this year’s Cosafa Castle Cup, was officially launched yesterday at the Discovery Soccer Park in Johannesburg.
To fortify the bonds of belonging and true friendship, Castle has come up with an ingenuity that will celebrate friendship amongst its consumers in the Southern African region. The Best Brew League, will feature regular people from countries across the SADC region and winners in the respective countries will be rewarded with an opportunity to come to South Africa during the Cosafa Castle Cup to compete for the grand prize of being crowned BBL champions.
The launch yesterday is set to kick-start a series of regional events culminating in the finals to take place at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg and the Moruleng Stadium. The tournament, which is part of the Cosafa Castle Cup, aims to deepen consumer participation in sport and aims to contribute to football development initiatives in the Southern African region.
Former football players Tinashe Nengomasha, Dipsy Selolwane, Brian Baloyi, Siza Dlamini, Lehlohonolo Seema and Rotson Kilambe were announced as official ambassadors of the Best Brew League and were on hand to share their excitement of being associated with this new enterprise from Castle Lager.
“I am honoured to be a part of something like this,” says former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Baloyi.
“When I was approached to be a part of this I jumped at the opportunity as this platform grants us an opportunity to make new friends with Castle Lager consumers from all over Africa. I am looking forward to sharing my expertise with the players that will be joining us in Rustenburg during the Best Brew League and make long lasting relationships.”
With the aim of encouraging active lifestyles amongst its consumers, Castle Lager has brought the Best Brew League to carry that through.
