COSAFA sides South Africa and Zambia have advanced to the second round of qualifying for the 2016 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup after easing past their opposition at the weekend.

The pair will now meet in the next stage as they seek to win through to the global finals to be held in Papa New Guinea next year.

It was the end of the road for Namibia though as they lost 1-0 at home to DR Congo to go down 5-0 on aggregate.

South Africa came up a much more spirited Botswana, but still managed a 1-0 win to take their tie 9-1 on aggregate.

The only goal of the game came from Noma Sikweza just after halftime as Botswana put in a much improved display.

Zambia were held 0-0 at home by Tanzania, but had done all the hard work away from home as they claimed a 4-0 aggregate win.

They will now meet South Africa over two legs on the weekends of September 25-27 and October 9-11.

The winner of that tie will play the victor between Nigeria and DR Congo for a place in Papa New Guinea.
