Orlando Pirates continued to fly the COSAFA flag high in the African Confederation Cup with a well-deserved 1-0 victory over AC Leopards of Congo on Saturday.

Happy Jele scored the only goal of the game for The Buccaneers, who brought home the three points in what could be a vital away win.

On a difficult surface in Dolisie, Pirates showed the same fighting spirit that saw them reach the final of the 2013 African Champions League.

The home side had their chances, but Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo was superb in keeping them at bay.

Pirates scored just before the hour-mark as Leopards failed to clear a free-kick and right-back Jele volleyed home.

Pirates will now host Egyptian giants Zamalek on July 11. The latter won their opening game 1-0 at home to Tunisian side CS Sfaxien.
