Lishoeshoe and Aguilla Girls make flying starts at CAF U17 GIFT Zimbabwe 2025

Lesotho’s Lishoeshoe and Zambia’s Aguilla Girls made perfect starts to their CAF Under-17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) Zimbabwe 2025 campaigns after recording emphatic victories in Group B action at Ngoni Stadium in Norton, near Harare on Tuesday.

Lishoeshoe were dominant in the opening fixture of the day as they claimed a 6-2 win over South Africa’s Refilwe FC.

Boiketlo Molise led the charge with a well-taken brace, while Naleli Morie, Mampona Lekenyane and Ntsamaeng Tholo were also on target for the side from the Mountain Kingdom.

The sixth goal came via an unfortunate own goal from Refilwe captain Makgatla Ramahla. Pretty Modika struck twice at the other end to give the South Africans some consolation.

Aguilla Girls followed up with a commanding display of their own, easing past Namibia’s Okakakara Golden Ladies 5-0.

Luyando Banda grabbed a brace, with Beauty Namukonda, Luyando Banda and Serah Musonda adding further goals to seal a convincing victory.

The results leave Aguilla top of the group on goal difference, level on three points with Lishoeshoe.

Refilwe sit third, while Golden Ladies occupy fourth place after the opening round.
