The Brave Warriors headed out to Tunis last week as coach Ricardo Mannetti trimmed down his 2018 Africa Nations Championship final training squad to 27 players as Namibia’s prepares for Ivory Coast, Uganda and Zambia Group B of the finals to be held in Morocco in January.

Young Chiefs pair of Penda Mongudhi and Jackson Johannes joins Life Fighters defender Hubert Mingeri as well as Chief Santos defender Kennedy Eib from the initial 31 training camp that also saw Itamunua Keimuine replacing Muna Katupose due to injury. Wangu Gome will not form part of the team as he wil join up with Platinum Stars in South Africa on Wednesday as well.

Also making the Tunis squad is Tigers left winger Benyamin Nenkavu who was not on the initial 31 but was being assessed together with Katupose last week by the medical and technical teams of the Brave Warriors.

Team Manager Cyril Isaacs confirms that the team will depart for Tunis, Tunisia on Wednesday afternoon as they prepare to face Ivory Coast on 14 January, Uganda on 18 January in Marrakech and finally play Zambia in Casablanca in the final group game on 22 January with the top two teams advancing to the quarterfinals.

The team is expected to spend about two weeks in Tunis with friendly matches on the cards as well before proceeding to their base in Marrakesh for the maiden finals the final 23 men squad to represent Namibia will be made from Tunis around the 02 January and the team leaves for Morocco on 11 January. Four more players are to be dropped.
