2016 AUSC ZONE 5 GAMES – Day Four Wrap

South Africa broke many records on day four of the 2016 edition of the AUSC Region 5 games in Luanda, Angola when they beat neighbours Zimbabwe 6-0 in the last group stage fixture.

Four goals from Linda Motlhalo, and further strikes from Lelona Daweti and Kaylyn Jordaan meant that South Africa are officially the highest scoring team in the tournament and have not conceded any thus far.

The ladies of Namibia also put a great performance in the 2016 edition of the AUSC Games, following their 2-1 win over hosts Angola. Their goals came courtesy of Beverly Uueziva and a late second half penalty by Memory Ngonda, while the lone goal for Angola was converted by Arminda Paulina Lope.

Zimbabwe gave Zamibia quiet the challenge in the boys clash out at 11 de Novembro Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, as Chipolopolo walked away with a 3-0 victory in the match of the day.

Nkundu Kunda’s penalty in the 20th minute and a brace from Francisco Mwepu in the 63rd and 84th minute were enough to seal the victory.

While hosts Angola has still not managed to win any games in this campaign. Swaziland walked away 1-0 winners in the last match of the day out at InterClube, Luanda.

The only goal of the match came in the 78th minutes, when Senzo Shongwe struck an amazing shot past the Angolan keeper.

The semifinals will now be played on Friday when in the women’s competition South Africa will again take on Zimbabwe, and Angola face Namibia.
